Els carn\u00edvors han tingut un paper destacat al llarg de la hist\u00f2ria evolutiva humana. Aquests animals sovint actuaven com a carronyaires en els assentaments humans prehist\u00f2rics, provocant la desaparici\u00f3 de restes sense deixar rastres evidents. Tals escenaris plantegen reptes significatius per als estudis arqueol\u00f2gics, especialment quan s\u2019intenta aplicar principis derivats de l\u2019Etnografia en contextos temporals d’alta resoluci\u00f3.<\/p>\n

SCAVENGERS inclou el monitoratge de reproduccions experimentals de conjunts relacionats amb fogars – similars als trobats en contextos arqueol\u00f2gics \u2013 i que s\u00f3n exposats a diverses esp\u00e8cies de carn\u00edvors salvatges com hienes, \u00f3ssos, llops i altres carn\u00edvors m\u00e9s petits. Posteriorment, els resultats seran testats en diferents jaciments del Paleol\u00edtic Mitj\u00e0 utilitzant t\u00e8cniques d\u2019intel\u00b7lig\u00e8ncia artificial.<\/p>\n

L’objectiu principal \u00e9s generar dades transversals aplicables a tots els per\u00edodes i regions geogr\u00e0fiques, superant les limitacions dels m\u00e8todes arqueol\u00f2gics tradicionals per inferir amb precisi\u00f3 el comportament hum\u00e0 del passat. Els resultats d\u2019aquest projecte contribuiran al desenvolupament d\u2019un nou paradigma que desafiar\u00e0 nocions fonamentals sobre la prehist\u00f2ria.<\/p>\n

En aquest sentit, els objectius espec\u00edfics inclouen:<\/p>\n

1.- Destacar els buits substancials en la comprensi\u00f3 dels patrons d’ocupaci\u00f3 durant el Paleol\u00edtic Mitj\u00e0.<\/p>\n

2.- Demostrar l’efic\u00e0cia dels estudis neo-tafon\u00f2mics i el seu potencial d’aplicaci\u00f3 al registre arqueol\u00f2gic quan es realitzen de manera rigorosa i precisa. Aix\u00f2 rebat investigacions anteriors que atribu\u00efen patrons mec\u00e0nics i repetitius a animals sense considerar les seves circumst\u00e0ncies ecol\u00f2giques o fisiol\u00f2giques espec\u00edfiques.
